Part of the appeal of working in a field that combines genealogical research and legal administration is the multifaceted nature of the role. Each day brings new challenges and new opportunities in equal measure.

When assigned a case, you can never know the complexities that lie ahead. The intricate web of genealogy unravels mysteries from the past, stories forgotten by time are reanimated, and the family links that bind us all are illuminated. My first months at Treethorpe have provided me with a profound appreciation for humanity’s complex interconnectedness.

Working for Treethorpe affords constant opportunities to engage with an array of different people. From the initial seed of a Birth or Death Certificate, we uncover detailed family histories, forming personal connections along the way. There is a great sense of personal satisfaction that comes when providing such a meaningful, and oftentimes emotional, service to our clients.

An unexpected aspect of the role is providing a sense of closure to those with unresolved family histories. Providing a beneficiary with the initial bad news of someone’s passing is never an easy task, however the journey from thereon in is deeply rewarding.

I look forward to further developing my skills to excel in the already enriching career I have established at Treethorpe.
